Accompanying the brands
in reducing
the environmental impacts of their products.
Refashion continued to support brands in fully integrating end-of-life considerations from the design stage of their products
2025 was marked by continued growth in products placed on the market. A total of 3.6 billion items were placed on the market, representing nearly 917,604 tonnes — a dynamic that reflects very different economic situations across industry players, which Refashion shed light on for the second consecutive year through its Annual Barometer of Clothing and Footwear Consumption in France, a key tool for analysing the major trends shaping the industry.
The momentum built under the 2023-2028 specification framework was confirmed and strengthened, driven in particular by the development of eco-modulations: a key lever for embedding eco-design as a lasting reflex among brands. Combining methodological and financial tools, eco-modulations support producers in the gradual transformation of their offering, with a 121% increase in the number of eco-modulated items in 2025.

To accelerate this transformation, Refashion introduced additional resources this year to help brands become active contributors to the environmental transition: thematic webinars dedicated to household linen and footwear, practical guides on repair, recycling and durability, as well as the publication of the Recycling Disruptors/Facilitators Guides and a Practical Handbook on the Circular Economy.
Finally, through events such as the Refashion Day and regular exchanges with producers, Refashion fulfilled its role as a facilitator and trusted third party: bringing the industry together, connecting stakeholders, and circulating and sharing knowledge — all actions in service of a single ambition: collectively accelerating the environmental transition of the clothing, household linen and footwear offering.
