Accompanying the brands

in reducing

the environmental impacts of their products.

Refashion continued to support brands in fully integrating end-of-life considerations from the design stage of their products

In 2024, the new priorities outlined in the 2023–2028 specifications led to a significant increase in eco-contributions, with the total amount paid by producers exceeding €139 million.

This was accompanied by the rollout of concrete measures and the evolution of incentive mechanisms available to producers.

The operational implementation of eco-modulations continued: revised weighting coefficients, more incentivizing amounts, cumulative bonuses… all reflecting a strong commitment to promoting greater uptake of these mechanisms in support of more responsible production practices.

Refashion also launched several initiatives aimed at brands.
An operational in-store collection scheme was implemented, along with the Recycled Material Incorporation Experiments, designed to create long-term outlets for recycled materials sourced from non-reusable post-consumer textile waste collected in France. Two sector-specific working groups were also launched, focusing on the lingerie and footwear segments, with the aim of identifying specific obstacles and activating concrete pathways for transformation.

All of these initiatives complemented existing tools — the Prevention and Eco-design Plan, the “Contributing Brand” logo, methodological resources, etc. — to support brands in placing the circular economy at the core of their product strategies.

2024 was also marked by growth in the volumes placed on the market, as well as in the share of eco-modulated products. This data is available in the Refashion's barometer on annual sales of textiles and footwear, which provides a fact-based, quantified overview of recent trends in the French market.
